AUDITORIUM RENOVATION:
The Weeping Water Community Building Foundation, a non-profit corporation, has been diligently working to seek funding for the restoration of the Auditorium Building in Weeping Water, which originally served as an Auditorium for the Cass County Agricultural Society.  Nickels Trailer Sales utilized the building for several years and since that time it has remained vacant.  The Foundation Board of Directors and the architect are finalizing plans of this project to provide a multipurpose community facility that would include a banquet hall and city offices on the upper level and a commumity center (available for public rental, community organizational meetings and functions, and serve as a site for the senior citizen meals) and  a Public Library on the lower level.   Although an allocation of city sales tax revenue, Community Development Block Grant funds and private donations/pledges have been obtained, the foundation is still in need of revenue to complete the proposed renovations.  If anyone would like to contribute toward this project, please contact This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or call 402-267-5152. or mail to WWCBF, P.O. Box 329, Weeping Water, NE 68463.  Plaques will be issued for bronze, silver and gold contributors, which range from $500-$5,000 and above.  Monetary contributions on a smaller scale are also welcomed and will assist in the project completion.  Commemorative Bricks can also be purchased, which will be displayed as part of the landscaping surrounding the Community Center.  The 4 x 8" brick is $100 and the 8 x 8" brick is $150. Various options are available for the inscribed message on the bricks.  Commemorative brick order forms can be obtained at the City Clerk's Office of by contacting the above address.  The proposed renovation of this handicap accessible building allows for expansion of numerous programs and services that would benefit all age groups and social classes in Weeping Water and the outlying area.
