CITY OF WEEPING WATER
AUGUST 29, 2013
The Weeping Water City Council met in emergency session at 5:00 p.m. on August 29, 2013 for the purpose of considering action on bids received for a new rescue squad unit and to consider proposed financing options for the same.
Notice of the meeting was posted at City Hall on August 29, 2013, and all members of the Council were notified in advance of the meeting by telephone.
Mayor Howard Stubbendieck called the meeting to order and noted the posted location of the Open Meeting Act. Councilmembers answering roll were: Lawrence Mozena, Ray Frew, Kelly Nutter, and Mitch Miller. Absent: None.
Rescue Chief, Josh Hanes provided information on the three bids received for a new rescue squad unit. Following discussion and review of the same, a motion was made by Mozena, seconded by Miller to proceed with the Rescue Squad’s recommended purchase of the available demo Road Rescue Type I Rescue Unit at a cost of $192,348, which includes installation of lights, radios, and appropriate decals, as well as delivery, which is anticipated within four weeks. Motion carried unanimously.
In regard to financing the new rescue unit, a motion was made by Mozena, seconded by Nutter to pursue the proposed lease/purchase financing proposal with Community Leasing Partners for a term of five years. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nutter, seconded by Frew to adjourn at 5:23 p.m.
