REMINDERS FROM THE CITY OFFICE
The City recently passed a new nuisance ordinance. Citizens who let the grass grow on their property in excess of 12 inches in height can have fees assessed against the property. Please make every effort to keep your yard mowed.
Every dog and cat inside the city limits is required to be licensed. Pet licenses are due May 1, 2018. The cost is $8 and you must have proof of rabies vaccine. Citations will be issued to all citizens who fail to comply with licensing requirements. Office hours are 8am – 4pm. Please call the city office at 402-267-5152 to make other arrangements if you cannot make it to the office during normal business hours.
If you own chickens inside the city limits you must file a written application with the City. There is a maximum of four (4) chickens per property and they must be kept securely enclosed in a pen at all times. Cost is $25 and if you are first time applicants, you will need to get a miscellaneous building permit for your pen.
All ATVs, UTVs and golf carts must be registered with the city. Stickers are good from January – December of the current year. Cost is $25 and you must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance in order to operate your vehicle on the city streets.
