"Just a Dollar"
I am thrilled to report that a dollar store is opening right here in our beautiful little community!! "Just a Dollar" is the store's name and it is going to be located at 217 West Eldora Ave, which is the former site of Mid-America Mortgage. John Masters, who is the owner of a "Just a Dollar" store in Plattsmouth, decided that there would be great potential in creating a dollar store in Weeping Water and decided to give it a shot. Masters is hoping to open the store around March 1 st. Store hours of "Just a Dollar" will be 10:00 am- 7:00 pm Monday-Sunday. Many agree with me in thinking that this new store is a great opportunity for the Weeping Water community to bring new people into our fine town.

State Wrestling Overview

Weeping Water High School had five wrestlers qualify for the Nebraska State Wrestling Tournament held at the Quest Center this past weekend. After a whole season of hard work these five wrestlers had their chance to shine and represent our town's athletic program at a state event.

Billy Schreiner competed in the 112 lb weight class. Billy lost in the first round 4-6. Billy then moved on to the consolation first round where he lost 5-10. Phillip Rhodes participated in the 152 lb weight class. In the first round Phillip was pinned. He then moved on to the consolation first round where he was pinned again. T. J. Bickford was in the 171 lb weight class. In the first round he was pinned and in the consolation first round he lost 3-9. Scott Crook competed in the 215 lb weight class. Scott pinned his opponent in the first round, which brought him to quarterfinals where he got pinned. Scott then came back with a win in the consolation quarterfinals with a score of 5-2. Scott moved on to consolation semi-finals and lost 3-19. This brought Scott to the consolation 5 th place match where he won 5-3 earning him 5th place. Louie Nutter was in the 285 lb weight class. Louie started off strong in the first round by pinning his challenger. Unfortunately in the quarterfinals Louie was pinned, which brought him to the consolation quarterfinals where he pinned his opponent. Consolation semi-finals was the next match for Louie. He came out on top again in this match winning 8-2. Louie ended with a 4 th place finish after losing 1-13 in the consolation 3rd place match. All of the Weeping Water wrestlers did very well this year and I feel as if I can speak for the whole town in saying that we are very proud of them. Congratulations!!
