The Weeping Water Chamber of Commerce met for its regular meeting on January 16, 2007 for lunch at the First Christian Church. President Mike Spohe welcomed everyone to the meeting and the invocation was given by Keith Hammons.

Door prizes were furnished by Martin Marietta and winners were: ,Betty Welte, Ray Frew, Barb Bergmann, Kay Gerdes, Jean Colbert, Steve Mausbach, Chuck Spohr, Keith Leckron, Betty Neumeister, Jean Bruns and Rick Setchell.

Visitors and new chamber members were introduced. Kat Cover with Grandpa Snazzy's, Adi Idler with art work including photo greeting cards, and James Wall with the Nebraska Boys Home.

The minutes of the August meeting were read by Betty Welte. Lindsey Powles made a motion to accept the minutes, 2nd by Betty Neumeister, motion carried.

The financial report was given by Jean Bruns with a balance of $3,659.11. Kay Gerdes made a motion to accept the financial report, 2nd by Don Hughes, motion carried. Kay Gerdes wondered if anyone had any suggestions for next years CHC, especially regarding the Stop & Shop.

It was noted by Mike that the City Council approved an Economic Development Committee. Those on the Committee are: Don Hughes, Roger Roberts, Mark Rathe, Ray Frew, Brian Gegg and Mike Spohr.

Next meeting will February 20th at the Weeping Water School Carole Cappen made a motion to adjourn, 2nd by Kat Cover, motion carried.
