The Weeping Water Chamber of Commerce met for its regular meeting on April 16, 2007 for lunch at the United Methodist Church. President Mike Spohr welcomed everyone to the meeting and the invocation was given by Pastor Sandy Webster.


Door prizes were furnished by Mid-America Mortgage and winners were: Jean Colbert, Sandy Webster, Rick Setchell, Chuck Spohr, Frank Cranston, Betty Neumeister and Diane Christian.


Pastor Sandy introduced her husband Dick to the meeting and Cris Carpenter introduced Jason Laessig, new owner of Keckler Bottle Garden.


The minutes of the March meeting were read by Betty Welte. One correction was made, Diane Christian made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected, 2nd by Dorothy Murphy, motion carried.


The financial report was given by Jean Bruns with a balance of $4,069.11. Diane Christian made a motion to accept the financial report, 2nd by Cris Carpenter, motion carried.


Betty Welte gave a recap of the Easter Egg Hunt that despite the cold temps approximately 90 children came out.


Mike gave an update on Limestone Days and said the format will be about the same as last year and help is needed with the parade.


Kay Gerdes passed around surveys regarding to the possibility of changing the Coming Home for Christmas to the weekend before Thanksgiving and combining the two Holidays.


It was noted that the Legion will sponsor a pancake feed on April 29 to help with the baseball team and the girls and boys Sate attendees.


Our guest speakers were Ben Day and Dave Johnson from Olsson Associates who gave updates on the Bike Trail. Help with this project is being obtained from the Enhancement Program and will run approximately 1900 feet, beginning at the swimming pool and ending by the Express Lane. Construction will probably begin sometime this Fall.


Next meeting will be May 21st at the First Congregational Church and door prizes furnished by Grandpa Snazzy’s. Meeting Adjourned.
