Obituary

Pauline (Rough) Grafe, 94, of Lincoln formerly of Weeping Water passed away on Saturday October 07, 2023 at the Legacy Arbors in Lincoln, NE.

Pauline was born on October 09, 1928 in Omaha, NE to parents Arthur and Theresa (Wiles) Rough.

As a child Pauline grew up on a farm outside of Weeping Water, NE and attended the Philpot Country School and Nehawka High School. She later attended Lincoln School of Commerce, then worked as a Secretary at the Consumers Public Power District in Lincoln as a young adult.

Pauline met the love of her life, Elmer Grafe at the Pla Mor Ballroom and later married on September 28, 1950. Together they raised three children on a farm near Weeping Water, NE.

Some of Pauline's favorite hobbies were Word Finds, listening to music, traveling, going out to eat or just enjoying a good conversation with a friend. Nobody was a stranger.

Pauline is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Gramps of Weeping Water

Roger (June) Grafe of Cedar Rapids, IA. and Elizabeth (Jeff) Robertson of Lincoln NE; Seven grandchildren, Three step grandchildren; Nine Great grand children; two step great grandchildren and Three Great,great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by an infant brother, Parents, husband Elmer Grafe and Granddaughter Jeri Grafe.

Pauline especially will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love for family and friends.

Visitation 1-8 pm Friday October 27, 2023 Family will greeting friends 6-8 pm at Hammons Family Funeral Chapel

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 28, 2023 at First Congregational Church in Weeping Water, NE,

in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Nebraska or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
