Homecoming Week for High School
This week is Weeping Water High School’s homecoming week. It’s a week filled with fun dress up days, big games, and memorable dances. Every day during homecoming week there is a theme everyone dresses up in. This year’s themes are: Monday-Redneck Day, Tuesday-Camouflage Day, Thursday-Halloween Day, and Friday-Big Red Day. It’s very interesting to see what kind of crazy outfits students come to school in on these days.

This week is also a big fall sports game week. This year’s rival for the homecoming football game is the Malcolm Clippers. The football boys have been preparing long and hard to prove themselves against Malcolm and we hope that they can achieve a win for the homecoming game. Other sports include softball districts on Thursday and Friday, a volleyball triangular in Malcolm on Tuesday, and Cross Country ECNC on Tuesday. Good luck to all athletes participating!
The homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, October 6 from 7:00-11:00 p.m. in the Weeping Water High School gym. The theme for this year’s dance is TechO7, so it should be a blast!

No School: There will be no school for Weeping Water on Wednesday, October 3 due to parent-teacher conferences from noon-8:00 p.m.

Skyler Jon Bennett Fundraiser: The fundraiser for the family of Skyler Bennett was a great success! Everyone was very generous in their contributions and the total is still growing. An estimate of 200+ people attended the fun-filled fundraiser!

Weeping Water to be Featured in Book
The town of Weeping Water has been chosen for the honor of being included in a book that is going to be printed in July. The book is about towns with unique names and histories. Only 1,000 copies will be available for sale and since our town included in the book we get priority for ordering. The book is $19.95 plus $3.50 for mailing and handling.

The book is divided into the eight sections of the country, with the towns within each section in alphabetical order. There are also at least 30 color photographs from 30 different towns. If you are interested in purchasing a book, e-mail Sam Drash at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Be sure to include your name and the address you would like the book or books to be sent to.

Fall Story Hour
The Weeping Water public library would like to invite all preschoolers and their parents to attend story hour at the Weeping Water public library.

Every Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Story hour is a very informal time that gets parents and their young children out of the house and also gives the children a chance to learn at a young age that reading is fun!
