Weeping Water Newsletter
Last week's carnival was a huge success!! The kids had a great time playing games and earning prizes. Included in this week's newsletter are pictures from the carnival and updates on community events.

Elementary Carnival

The annual Weeping Water Elementary Carnival was a huge success this year! The Weeping Water PTO sponsored the event and numerous gracious volunteers helped. The kids had a great time playing games, jumping on the moon bounce, and getting their fun prizes from the tickets they earned. It's amazing how something so simple can make so many kids smile from ear to ear.

Weeping Water Community Garage Sales
Weeping Water needs a volunteer to organize the Community Garage Sales this year if there is enough community interest. Shari Mason has done this job for the last few years, but is unable to do it this year. If interested in volunteering, contact the City Clerk, Kay Gerdes. Shari would be happy to answer questions or offer assistance in getting things organized. Don't miss this great opportunity to give back to your community.

Weeping Water Auditorium Renovation Project
A very positive community project is underway for the City of Weeping Water. We need your financial help to make it possible. The Weeping Water Community Building Foundation is restoring the old building on Main Street that was used as an auditorium for the Cass County Agricultural Society.

The new building would be a multipurpose facility and would include a banquet hall, city offices, and a community center which will serve as a site for Senior Citizen Meals, community organizational meetings/functions, and will be available for public rental. It is also under consideration that the Public Library be moved to the basement of the new community building.

Several generous donations from numerous citizens and businesses, grant funds, and sales tax revenue for Weeping Water have been some ways the community building project has received money. But, there is still a great deal of need to meet the financial obligations. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community in a positive way. All contributors will be recognized.

If you have any questions or would like to receive a Commemorative Brick Order Form, contact: The Weeping Water Community Building Foundation, P.O. Box 329, Weeping Water, NE 68463 or e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Flaming Idiots
By: Tom Rooney
Carl & Phil know that big money is waiting for people with entrepreneurial spirit and sound business judgment. They have lots of spirit, but little judgment. Their gourmet health food restaurant flounders even with their signature drink called the Flaming Idiot. Zippy's, a popular cross town spot, has been crowded ever since Cy Manamalancia, a notorious mobster, was shot in their establishment twenty years ago. What if someone could get murdered in their restaurant? Flaming Idiots is a contemporary farce that won the New American Comedy Festival Award.
