Weeping Water Nebraska
Weeping Water Newsletter

Weeping Water High School's junior class just arrived home from a week long trip to Washington D.C. Included in this week's newsletter are pictures from their trip and information about the program they went to D.C. with. Also included are many new community events.

 Washington D.C.
Most of Weeping Water High School's Junior class left at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29 for their class trip to Washington D.C. All their hard work fundraising and preparing was finally paying off.
These students were part of a national program called Close-Up. Through this program, high school students are given the opportunity to tour our Nation's Capital and have a once in a lifetime experience. Through Close-Up the students went to most of Washington D.C.'s most famous monuments and buildings including the Washington Monument, The White House, The National Cathedral, and our Nation's Captial Building.
The students learned more about our government through workshops and listening to various government representatives. By the time the students arrived home last Saturday you could tell they had a great time. You could also see how exhausted they were from the long, fun-filled week.

Autism Awareness Month
April is Autism Awarness month and the Weeping Water Library stocks a book called Seasons of the Soul, which includes personal accounts of Springfield, NE author Janet Syas Nitsick's two sons dealing with autism. In Seasons of the Soul readers set into each season of uplifting faith stories and several personal accounts. The family and book were featured on KMTV and the author had a radio interview aired on WVNE 760 on August 4.
Midwest Book Reviewer Laurel Johnson said: "This beautiful little book is suitable for all readers and is the ideal gift for family and friends. It's also a joyful testimony to Christians and those who may be questioning their faith. Highly recommended to parents of autistic children."
