In Case You Were Wondering…
I personally attended the fundraiser this past Sunday for Nevy Nietzel, a local resident who is currently battling cancer, and I am pleased to say that the fundraiser was an enormous success!! Nevy was at the fundraiser the whole time, smiling and looking great. Over $7,000 was raised for the Nietzel family to cover medical costs!! I was so amazed to see how many people from our community came in to help out a worthy cause. I guess it’s just one of the many wonderful benefits of living in a small town, everyone is willing to help everyone else, no matter what it takes. Thank you to everyone who came to the fundraiser to help out this family.

State Basketball Tournament Overview
As everyone knows, the Weeping Water Boys Varsity Basketball team had the honor of competing in the Nebraska State Basketball tournament. Their game was scheduled for Thursday, March 8th at Lincoln North Star High School at 1:30 pm against number 1 rated Ponca. The boys and tons of loyal Weeping Water fans arrived with high hopes of bringing back yet another victory for our town. The basketball team gave it their all and played a wonderful game. Unfortunately, in the end they lost the game 84-63 to Ponca. The faithful Weeping Water fans cheered the boys on until the very end of the game. I can speak for all of us in Weeping Water in saying that we are very proud of our Boys Basketball teams and are so very proud of their accomplishments. Congratulations boys, you had a wonderful season!!
