Weeping Water 10km Volksmarch

When: Saturday, April 21, 2007
Where: Heritage Museum, Weeping Water, NE
Start and Finish Times: Start anytime between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. You must be off the trail by 3:00 pm
Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Price: Fun Walkers-$1.00
Award Walkers-$6.00

General Information:

• The trail will run through the city of Weeping Water and the surrounding countryside. The trail will not be suitable for wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs.
• All ages are welcome for the Volksmarch. An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age.
• Pets must be leashed and kept under control at all times.
• All participants must register and have a start card.
• The event will be held whether it’s rainy or nice.
• IMPORTANT: You must register at the starting point. At the start of the event each person must obtain a start card at the start/finish point. The card must be carried on the walk and personally presented at each checkpoint. All start cards are property of the Lincoln Volksport Club and must be turned in at the finish point at the end of the event.
  So come on out and join the people of Weeping Water in the Volkmarch. So put on those walking shoes and get moving!

Hoppies Annual Catfish Tournament

Once again Hoppies is sponsoring its annual catfish tournament.

When: Saturday, April 21, 2007
Time: 7:00 am

Pancake Feed Fundraiser
Weeping Water’s American Legion Post 237 is hosting a Pancake Feed to help pay for some of their expenses.

When: Sunday, April 29, 2007
Where: American Legion Hall (upstairs)
Time: 8:00 am-2:00 pm
Menu: Pancakes/Sausage/Eggs/Coffee/Juice

This fundraiser is to help offset expenses for:
Legion Baseball
Girls State
Boys State

CORRECTION: Oops…in the March 28th Weeping Water Newsletter I wrote an article on the Weeping Water High School musical Grease. In the article I stated that admission to the musical was free, but this week found out that this year they are charging admission to get into the musical. Admission for the musical is: Adults-$5.00 and Students: $3.00. Sorry for the mistake.
