2016 marks the Lofte's 40th season. We're celebrating our "Ruby Jubilee" in style with a informal birthday party on Saturday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m. We're charging a small admission fee of $5, but larger donations will be gladly accepted.

The Lofte has grown from a small group of locals who put up a play in a neighbor's barn to an important regional arts center. Literally thousands of individuals have graced the stage and/or attended one of our events. We're celebrating all of our accomplishments with cake, ice cream and loads of Lofte entertainment. You will see familiar faces from our forty-year history as Lofte alumni treat you to some of your favorite show tunes!

Purchase tickets in advance or at the door. We'd love to see as many of our friends as possible. Come and celebrate our rich history and share the evening with good friends. See you at the barn!

On Saturday, July 23, the Lofte participated in the Nebraska Association of Community Theatres Festival in Minden, NE. The association holds a biennial play competition and 2016 saw the Lofte walking away with the top prize! The Lofte cast and crew not only won Outstanding Production, but Doug Rothgeb won Supporting Actor. Silvia Conley won Supporting Actress and Nick Haussler won Outstanding Set Design.

The play, "Shakespeare's a D*ck," is a competition piece written by Mark Kenneally. The comedy is the story of red-neck named Wally who curses the name of Shakespeare and opts to attend a monster truck rally instead of "As You Like It." Wally soon feels the wrath of the Bard as he wakes the next morning finding he can only speak in Shakespearian verse!

Congratulations to the cast, crew and Director Allison Bauers! They have advanced to the regional competition which will be held in April 2017 in Brainerd, MN.

The Verdeen cousins (Gaynelle, Peaches and Jimmie Wyvette) could not have picked a worse time to schedule their family reunion. They face an uphill battle on the hottest day in July smack-dab in the middle of Texas tornado season. Soon a parade of wildly eccentric Verdeen's descend upon their southern town and things spin hilariously out of control. You will wish your own family reunions were this much fun!

This production runs for seven dates over the course of two weekends. Be sure to make your reservations and don't miss this family-friendly hootenanny!
