From the City Office:

Effective January 1, 2017, the sales and use tax for the City of Weeping Water will increase to 1.5%.  The additional .5% was approved by Weeping Water residents during the Primary election held on May 10, 2016.  The revenue generated by the increase, which will be approximately an additional $51,000 annually, will be used for street and sidewalk improvements, park expansion and economic development.
