Thank you from the Murdock Lions Club

The Murdock Lions Club would like to thank the community for supporting us again this year.  We were able to have our Fourth of July fundraiser this year and the parade crowd gave generously for our lunch of pork sandwiches.  Raffle tickets were also sold and we started our list for peach and pear sales for fall delivery.  This year our income exceeded all expectations and we were able to increase our givings to selected causes.

Outlook Nebraska received $200.00 to assist in training the visually impaired in Omaha, $100.00 to LeaderDogs, $300.00 to Canine Companions who train service dogs, $100.00 to the NE Lions Foundation, and $300.00 was given to the Cass County Food Bank.

This year we donated $200.00 to the Weeping Water Senior Center.  This was in appreciation for the Weeping Water community in purchasing peach sales from the Lions.  This year with help from the surrounding communities we sold a record 200 boxes of peaches and 32 boxes of pears.

We have also pledged to give(3) $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors and have in reserve a donation to the future park in Murdock.

The Murdock Lions also pay for the hearing and vision testing in the school scheduled this year at the end of January.  We also pay the cost to include the Louisville school as well as volunteer our time to accomplish these tasks.

The Murdock Lions once again put up the lighted Christmas trees in Murdock.

We are a small club but mighty.  Please consider joining us. We meet the third Monday of the month with a meal and short meeting.  Once again, thank you to all for supporting us this year!
